About
What this is and who runs it
1. What Is This
paywall.chat is a paid real-time chat platform. You pay rent to access chat rooms. When your lease expires, you get evicted. It is not a prototype, a mockup, or a concept — it is live, processing real payments, with real users chatting in real time. The revenue counter and eviction feed on the homepage update live.
2. How It Works
There are 6 chat rooms, each with a different price and lease duration — from The Lobby ($1 for 24 hours) to The Owner ($1,000,000 for lifetime access). Pay via Stripe, get a time-limited lease, and chat with other residents. Higher-tier residents can visit lower rooms with a visible flair badge. When your lease expires, you are automatically evicted. Evictions are public.
3. Real-Time Chat
This is live, persistent, real-time chat. Messages appear instantly. Occupancy counts update in real time. The eviction feed on the homepage is live. When someone gets evicted or sends a message, you see it immediately. Nothing is delayed, cached, or simulated.
4. Payments
All payments are processed by Stripe. paywall.chat never sees or stores your credit card information. All prices are in USD. All sales are final — see our Terms of Service for the full refund policy.
5. The Platform
paywall.chat is built on established infrastructure: Next.js hosted on Vercel, Supabase for database, authentication, and real-time messaging, and Stripe for payment processing.
6. Contact
paywall.chat is an independent project. For questions, issues, or account deletion requests, contact hello@paywall.chat.
7. Community
We keep things civil. Abusive behavior, spam, and harmful content result in immediate lease termination with no refund. See our Community Rules for details.
